Product Overview

Balance any room in minutes without entering the attic

The Airex Air Balance System™ is a fully adjustable, internal and non-invasive airflow-control solution engineered for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. It gives contractors and HERS raters a cleaner way to reduce supply airflow without inline dampers, duct cutting or invasive system redesign.

Adjust airflow from the register Access the system through the register or boot transition while remaining inside the conditioned space.
Reduce airflow with precision Inflation is adjustable from 0–100% airflow reduction so each room can be fine-tuned as needed.
Keep the installation clean and hidden The internal system remains out of sight and requires no duct cutting or modification.

Why Air Balancing Needed to Change

Traditional balancing methods slow jobs down

Conventional approaches can expose technicians to heat, dust and safety risks while turning a straightforward comfort complaint into a time-consuming service call.

01

Attic Access

Technicians may need to climb into hot, dusty attics to locate and adjust manual dampers.

02

Duct Modification

Traditional retrofits can require cutting into ducts to add balancing hardware or rework supply runs.

03

Guess-and-Check Adjustments

Repeated trips between the room and ductwork can consume valuable time on every visit.

04

Missed Service Opportunity

An invasive process can make common airflow complaints too costly or disruptive to address as a quick fix.

Airex Air Balance System flexible circular bladder and articulating control stem

System Components

Simple components engineered for controlled adjustment

The system combines a lightweight internal bracket, a positioning stem and an inflatable circular bladder to create an adjustable restriction inside the supply duct.

01
Lightweight Coated-Steel Bracket

The bracket fastens inside the duct at the boot or register transition and supports the internal assembly.

02
Copper-Coated Articulating Control Rod

The long stem positions the bladder precisely where supply airflow needs to be reduced.

03
Tear-Resistant, Heat-Rated Elastomer Bladder

The flexible circular bladder inflates to create the exact level of airflow reduction required.

How It Works

Install, position, inflate and fine-tune

The Air Balance System is designed to let technicians make controlled airflow adjustments from the room while measurements are being taken.

1

Fasten the Bracket

Secure the lightweight bracket inside the duct at the boot or register transition.

2

Position the Stem

Use the articulating control stem to place the bladder where airflow needs to be reduced.

3

Inflate the Bladder

Inflate the flexible circular bladder with a hand pump or standard inflator.

4

Fine-Tune Airflow

Adjust inflation until the target airflow is reached. No attic access and no duct modification.

Built for Field Professionals

A practical tool for HERS raters and HVAC contractors

The Air Balance System helps professionals address oversupplied rooms, pressure imbalance and common comfort complaints without redesigning the duct system.

For HERS Raters

A predictable, repeatable way to bring problem rooms closer to airflow targets during verification.

  • Achieve ±10% airflow accuracy without system redesign
  • Correct rooms that fail because of oversupply
  • Verify without accessing the duct system
  • Allow technicians to adjust while the rater measures
  • Reduce verification time on common problem rooms

For HVAC Contractors

Turn “this room gets too cold” into a fast, high-margin airflow-balancing service.

  • No recutting ductwork
  • No pulling new lines
  • No chasing dampers in a 150°F attic
  • No re-engineering supply runs
  • No specialty licensing or sheet-metal skills required
$200–$300 Typical installed cost per register
10–15 min Typical time on site per room
Minimal Material cost

Ideal Applications

Designed for common airflow and comfort problems

Use the Air Balance System where supply airflow needs to be reduced without opening walls, cutting ducts or gaining access to hard-to-reach dampers.

01

HERS Airflow Balancing

Fine-tune room airflow while verification measurements are being taken.

02

Chronic Oversupply

Reduce excessive airflow in rooms that are consistently too cold or receive too much supply air.

03

Pressure Imbalance

Address bedrooms or rooms where pressure contributes to slamming doors, whistling or uneven comfort.

04

Existing-Home Retrofits

Add adjustable airflow control to existing systems without invasive duct modifications.

05

Multi-Zone Systems

Fine-tune individual spaces where airflow distribution does not match room demand.
